Nuclear Operations
The Nuclear Operations capability consists of 4 capabilities providing technical support (commercial work, R&D, nuclear foresight & advice) to a wide range of customers including the UK government.
Safety, Security and Safeguards – Safety Engineering & Assessment
The team provides SQEP radiological, chemotoxic and human factors safety assessment support and advice to our facilities, projects and customers. We also bid for external customer work.
We are beginning to provide additional support in the advice to projects regarding the implementation of the safety cases produce as well as implementing the safety cases.
Customers: NNL, SFL, Indirectly through Projects: RR, MoD, EDF, NDA.
Skills: SQEP in safety assessment, HAZOP, COMAH, DSEAR.
Facilities: We have access to web-based software provided by SL for calculations of dose. LOGAN is used for calculating frequencies of events occurring. Collaborations: We are building relationships with University of Coventry and University of Lancaster.
